NAMM: Takamine Guitars
I’ve owned a Takamine ever since 1995. I have great respect for their guitars, because it sounds good by itself, but sounds even better plugged in. And because my guitar has aged a lot (EN-10C), it really sounds great.
So, I was at the Takamine booth at NAMM and was wondering, since now I’m in love with the OM body style, if they had any OM body style models on display. They had one. And it was beautiful.
EF740SGN
OM Body, Solid Cedar Top, Satin Finish (which I love). This sounded just a bit thinner than my personal Takamine that I’ve had for years (I even bored a hole in it already).
TF430SS
NEX Body, this was also beautiful. I’m starting to love Sunburst or Flamed tops.
G406S
New Yorker Body, Beautiful guitar, maybe a little longer than an OM body. Great inlays all over the guitar. The cool thing is that it lists for only $579. Maybe a great buy.
UPDATE: I checked out the guitars on Musician’s Friend and found some great prices: EF740SGN – $899, TF430SS – $1599, G406S – $399
