Snow Day 2009

I thought we had missed our chance to go to the snow this past holidays. But with the amount of rain we had this past weekend, we might have a chance. So, I looked at the mountains going to work on Thursday morning and saw it was all white. So, I knew that today was my President’s day holiday, and Michelle didn’t have school… so now we’re going with Mika.

This will be Mika’s first trip to the snow, and mine and Michelle’s trip in a long time. We’re going to Wrightwood on the Angeles Crest Highway in the mountains. It’s not necessarily Big Bear, but we were hoping for lots of snow. And lots of snow we did find. Mika was scared at first. She didn’t want to walk on the snow or touch the snow, or even be standing on it for the first 30 minutes. But as soon as Michelle and I were showing her how much fun the snow was, she soon was having lots of fun with us. After about two hours of playing in the snow, she really didn’t want to leave. But Michelle and I were hungry, so we cleaned her up and walked to a local Taco place, “Chula” (I think, I’m not sure of the spelling). Great food, very authentic. After that, we put Mika in her car seat, and rode back down the mountain. It didn’t take 2 minutes in the car and Mika was already asleep, tired from all the fun.

Hope you enjoy the pics…
